Camp Foster – What’s pint-sized, wears purple and is tough enough to meet the challenges of a military upbringing? Military brats! Just like dandelions, military “brats” blossom wherever they land. The Exchange salutes their fearless spirit. April is the Month of the Military Child: dedicated to celebrating our youngest Heroes – our dandelions whose service and sacrifices make the Warfighter’s mission and focus possible.

“The heart and soul of The Exchange comes from the strength and sacrifice of our Service Members,” said Foster Furniture Store Manager Scott Rees. “And the heart and soul of our Service Members come from their families. The Exchange will always do what we can to show our thanks and appreciation and to be Family serving Family.

On April 18, the Army & Air Force Exchange Service at Camp Foster will celebrate Purple Up Day, a worldwide recognition of the strength and sacrifice of military children, by offering free treats to any child who wears purple to participating Exchange restaurants.

Any child 18 years old or younger who wears purple is eligible to receive a free treat while supplies last. Treats vary by location and may come in the form of a side, fountain drink, dessert or other item. Offer valid April 18 only. Participating Camp Foster Exchange restaurants include:

• Taco Bell- Cinnamon Twist
• Pizza Hut – Slice of Apple Pie
• Starbucks - Cake Pop
• Manchu Wok - Egg roll
• Charley’s Philly Steaks– Small lemonade
• BK – Ice Cream cone
• Subway – 2 Cookies
• Arby’s – Chocolate Chip Cookie
• Baskin Robbins – Kid’s cone
• Dunkin Donuts – 1 Donut
• Popeyes – Free Tender strip
• All other restaurants – Free small or kid’s size soft drink

Purple Up Day is held annually during Month of the Military Child, which recognizes the contributions of Warfighters’ children to the armed forces community. Purple symbolizes the combined colors of all branches of the military–Army green, Coast Guard blue, Air Force blue, Marine red, and Navy blue.

The Foster Furniture store is also showing their support for the Month of the Military Child on April 18th Purple-Up Day by wearing the Month of the Military Child Color on a specially designed T-shirt and they’ll also be handing out treats to any Military Brats wearing the color purple!
