American Red Cross - Kadena Station provided fifteen health and safety volunteers to serve as first responders at the H2gO Water 5K hosted by the USO on Kadena Air Base. Nine of the volunteers completed CPR / AED / First Aid certification the weekend prior in order to serve more than 600 runners and walkers who attended the run.

More than 550 people in the Kadena community have received American Red Cross life saving training since January 2014. Eighty-three young men and women have also received pediatric CPR training this year through the American Red Cross Babysitter's certification.

The American Red Cross on Kadena Station and Camp Foster offer the following certification courses: Adult and Pediatric CPR / AED / First Aid (blended learning and traditional course formats), CPR / AED / First Aid for Instructors and Professional Rescuers, Babysitter's Training, Wilderness and Remote First Aid, and Pet First Aid. Course schedules and availability can be found at or on Facebook at AmericanRedCross-KadenaStation. Be prepared - get certified!

The American Red Cross provides volunteer and training opportunities, as well as links members of the U.S. Armed Forces with their families during a crisis. Join us!
