KADENA AIR BASE – Though Okinawa may be miles from California’s Napa Valley and the celebrated wineries of Europe, there is no shortage of opportunities to indulge in the delectable flavors of notable wines. One of the most exclusive of these will most certainly be the Rocker NCO Club’s San Marino Wine & Dine on Friday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m.

This “presidential” gourmet experience will feature an eight-course meal prepared by guest chef Masayuki Okuda, complete with wine pairings from Di San Marino Winery. Chef Okuda, who was selected to cook at the White House, was also named one of the top 1,000 chefs by a respected Italian culinary association. Chef Okuda’s marriage of traditional Italian flavors with the unique tastes of Okinawan cuisine will make for a truly one-of-a-kind event.

Both club members and non-club members are invited to attend, and tickets are now on sale at the Rocker NCO Club’s Customer Service Desk. Along with a delectable meal, attendees will also receive a wine sampler gift bag courtesy of Di San Marino Winery. The meal will also feature live entertainment and a discussion led by Chef Okuda on how his incorporation of culture into cooking has made him a world-renowned chef.
