Soldiers of the 247th Military Police Detachment conducted active-shooter training March 10-13 at Torii Station. The four day scenerio consisted of classroom instruction; shoot don't shoot in the engagement skills trainer and glass house drills. The training culminated in an exercise at two different areas on the installation: Torii Beach and the chapel training annex. Soldiers of 349th Signal Company provided role players utilizing moulage kits and blood-spatter devices to enhance the training effect. Fire and Emergency Services was also able to take advantage of this exercise and provide first-responder-trauma care to the notional victims. Bilateral partners from the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Military Police were also in attendance learning ways to better their training program. With this training these Military Police warriors will have the knowledge and skills required to bring the fight to the enemy.
