The festival is an annual event taking place at the Nippon Budokan Arena that promotes friendship and passion for music among participating bands. Stone is the officer-in-charge of the III Marine Expeditionary Force Band, III MEF; Cardo is the commanding officer of the U.S. Army Japan Band; Orticio is the deputy wing commander of the Air Defense Wing; and Lambie is the commanding officer of the Australian Army Band.
