Howe is big reason why ASIJ romps over Yokota
TOKYO -- Andrew Howe closed out his American School In Japan football career in style and the Mustangs ended their season on a high note.
The senior running back rushed for touchdowns of 65, 55 and 40 yards, all in the first half, and ASIJ cruised to a 33-point halftime lead en route to a 46-7 home romp over Yokota.
“It was a great way to end the season,” coach Roy Tomlinson said, noting how the Mustangs (5-2) won their last three games and four of their last five, with the lone loss coming in the closing seconds to Division I-leading Nile C. Kinnick 32-29 on Oct. 12.
“It was a good season. We came a long way. … We’re a different team” than the one that began the season, Tomlinson said.
