The CyberPatriot computer competition is a national youth cyber defense program designed for middle school and high school students. The teams are tasked with finding computer vulnerabilities in a variety of programs and images during six hour long competitions. Although the program was conceived by the Air Force Association, a number of sponsors such as Northrop Grumman, Facebook, Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, Embry-Riddle University, Cisco, AT&T, University of Maryland, Microsoft and the Air Force Reserves are actively supporting this important educational competition.

Substantial scholarships are offered to the winners along with opportunities to work as interns for the sponsors. The top twenty five high school teams and top three middle school teams win all-expenses paid trip for a week to Washington D.C. to compete in the National Finals in April.
