Okinawa, Japan — The Kokeshi Roller Dolls opens the 5th roller derby season in Okinawa with Knocktoberfest on Saturday, October 3 at Marine Hanger 3 on Kadena Air Base. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and the hard-hitting action begins at 6 p.m. with FREE admission for all.

Knocktoberfest promises to deliver spectacular athleticism and action packed competitive skating between two intraleague teams. Irish Dance Okinawa includes dancers between the ages of 7-13 and will perform 4 routines during halftime.

The Kokeshi Roller Dolls was established in August 2010 to provide a healthy, competitive, and enjoyable sport to the military, civilian, and local populations. They operate in accordance with the WFTDA (Women's Flat Track Derby Association) rules and regulations, and function as a 501© non-profit organization to support and further the worldwide roller derby community and to provide an opportunity for friendship and recreation.

The skater-run league is made up of over 50 players, coaches, non-skating officials, and referees. They are currently recruiting for all positions. To find out how you can be involved, please visit or email

Marine Hanger 3 is located just off Douglas Boulevard. If you are traveling from Kadena Gate 1, at the light after the Kuter/Douglas intersection, take a left on Arnold Avenue and follow the road to the right. Plenty of parking is available in front of the hanger.
