Marines fast rope with a MV-22B Osprey in Okinawa

Capt. Andrew Jones, left, and Sgt. Devin Wallace, right, supports the fast rope training at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, November 28, 2017. Marines learned how to assist each other in descending a fast rope out of a MV-22B Osprey. Fast roping is a suitable way of inserting into an area of operation when landing an aircraft is not feasible. Jones, a native of Pekin, Illinois, is a pilot with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262, Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing. Wallace, a native of Key West, Florida, is a crew chief assigned to VMM-262, MAG-36, 1st MAW.
