YOMITAN YACHIMUN POTTERY FESTIVAL: Through March 20, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; the event takes place at Hotel Moon Beach. HIGASHI-SON (VILLAGE) AZALEA FESTIVAL: Through March 20, 9 a.m.-6 p.m., at Higashi-son Sonmin-no Mori; 50,000 azaleas are in full bloom and auto-camp/bungalow w/500 car parking are available neighboring at Eco Park, illuminated between 6-8 p.m. on March 11, 18 & 19; 30-minute ride from Nago city; adult 300 yen, children free; 098-43-2265.
AYAHASHI KAICHU (SEA VIEW) RUN (2017): April 2, 9 a.m.; half-marathon starts at 9 a.m., 10K trim sun starts at 9:50 a.m. and 3.8K trim run starts at 12:10 p.m.; Uruma City Yona Castle Park, 40-minute drive from Naha Airport after getting off at Okinawa North IC on Okinawa Express; 3,500 yen for half-marathon, 3,000 yen for adults, 1,500 yen for senior and junior high school students for 10K or 3.8K; 098-978-9404.
