KADENA AIR BASE, Japan -- The Bilateral Leadership Officer Group met to further strengthen ties between the 18th Wing and the Japan Air Self-Defense Force Oct. 27, 2017, at Kadena Air Base, Japan.

The BLOG is an organization composed of 18th Wing and Southwest Composite Air Division military officers that allows members to meet and form relationships and professional understandings between one another.

“This group will help develop and enhance relationships to ensure mutual understanding and cooperation,” said Maj. Mikihiro Furusawa, Southwest Air Self-Defense Force officer.

More than 10 JASDF officers came to Kadena AB to spend time with officers from across the installation while touring and observing multiple units and their unique missions.

“Events such as this assist in developing stronger connections with our bilateral partners from a mission and human relations perspective,” said Capt. Enoch Stohry, 18th Wing Equal Opportunity director. “Developing mutual understanding and cooperation between mission partners helps to enrich the goal of achieving shared strategic interests.”
