Black History Program to be held at Kadena High on Feb. 27

On Saturday February 27, 2016 the Okinawa Diversity Council is hosting a Black History Program at Kadena High School Auditorium from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.. It will feature performances by local middle and high school students in addition to award presentations for essay and art contest winners.
Foster Gospel choir will also perform old school gospel hyms. The Footloose Dance Studio will do a special dance presentation followed by step performance from the following:
The Sisters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Phi Omicron Omega Chapter
The Sisters of Okinawa Alumane Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
The Brothers of Sigma Gamma Gamma Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
The Sisters Zeta Phi Beat Sorority, Inc., Omega Theta Zeta Chapter will also provide a short presentation about their chapter and organization.
The Black History Program will end with the presentation of the Okinawa Unsung Hero Award. It will be presented to a member of the Okinawa Community that has made an exceptional contribution to the community by enhancing the well-being of others

Why: To educate, promoted diversity and display the talent of our youth
