CAMP COURTNEY, OKINAWA, Japan – A local community member empties his basket of Hijiki onto his tarp during the Hijiki Harvest Festival March 1 aboard Camp Courtney, Okinawa, Japan. Hijiki is a type of seaweed that grows on the coastlines around Japan, Korea and China. It is used in many Japanese dishes due to its richness in dietary fiber and essential minerals.
