Did you know?: Rycom has U.S. Army ties
The name “Rycom,” which is now most commonly associated with the AEON Mall Okinawa Rycom, was actually the name of a U.S. Army unit that existed on Okinawa. In 1946, the Army Service Command I was redesigned to become the Ryukyu’s Command (RYCOM), whose commanding general was appointed to govern the Ryukyu Islands.
