CAMP FOSTER, OKINAWA, Japan—U.S. military and members of the 15th Brigade, Japan Ground Self-Defense Force conducted the annual Guard and Protect exercise Dec. 6-8 aboard U.S. Installations on Okinawa.

Families and friends bid farewell to Marines and Sailors deploying to Okinawa, Japan aboard Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Dec. 8-10, 2017.

The Marines and Sailors of 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, are deploying under the Unit Deployment Program to serve as a forward deployed force in the West Pacific for the next six months.

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI, Japan -- Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262, stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Okinawa, began training at MCAS Iwakuni, Japan, Dec. 9, 2017.

The squadron utilized MCAS Iwakuni’s strategic geography to support exercise Forest Light.

Due to a number of issues beyond the Marine Corps' control, regular trash pickup has been interrupted. Although trash is still being removed, it is on a reduced schedule and the problem is not fixed.

MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP BUTLER, Okinawa, Japan - At 10:09 am today, a CH-53E window fell onto the sports field of Daini Futenma Elementary School outside of Marine Corps Air Station Futenma. The aircraft immediately returned to MCAS Futenma and reported the incident.
