The American Red Cross is seeking teams to build and race derby cars during the 7th annual Derby Day Festival on Saturday, May 9th, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Marek Park
Derby Day is a free family event held each year by the American Red Cross with an annual attendance of 1,000!

KADENA AIR BASE, Japan -- The 67th Fighter Squadron broke a Kadena Air Base record on March 26, for the most sortie missions flown in four days.

Soldiers of the 247th Military Police Detachment conducted active-shooter training March 10-13 at Torii Station. The four day scenerio consisted of classroom instruction; shoot don't shoot in the engagement skills trainer and glass house drills.

The Directorate of Public Works at U.S. Army Garrison Okinawa has completed its restoration project of the Torii Station softball field. Among many of the improvements were replacing badly corroded fence posts, chain link fabric and other accessories to ensure a safe playing field for Soldiers, Civilians and Family Members to play.

1st MAW bid farewell to Sgt. Maj. Trevor V. Jackson and welcomed Sgt. Maj. Mario A. Marquez during the relief and appointment ceremony for the sergeant major of the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing March 27 at Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan. Marquez took over for Jackson, who served as the 1st MAW sergeant major for more than two and a half years.

CAMP HANSEN, Okinawa, Japan -- The Marine Corps’ new commandant came to Okinawa, Japan, March 24-26 to talk with Marines across the island.
Gen. Joseph F. Dunford wanted to make sure the Marines here know what his expectations are for the present and future of the Corps.
