GWANGYANG, Republic of Korea -- U.S. Marines completed an all-inclusive military class on detainee handling March 27 at Gwangyang Port, Republic of Korea during exercise Ssang Yong 2014.

KADENA AIR BASE, Japan -- The 18th Security Forces Squadron Combat Arms firing range is scheduled to close for renovation July 1 here.
The purpose of the closure is to ensure the building and the firing range meet building and safety standards, and will take approximately a year and a half to two years to complete.

CAMP FOSTER, OKINAWA, Japan -- Kojin Chibana, chief of the Okinawa Police Station, presented letters of appreciation Feb. 26 to six Marines who assisted emergency personnel during a fatal accident on Highway 330 in Okinawa City.

CAMP SCHWAB, OKINAWA, Japan -- Cpl. Brandon K. Moore received the Bronze Star Medal with a combat distinguishing device March 14 during a ceremony at Camp Schwab, Okinawa, Japan.
Moore was awarded for his heroic actions during a firefight with enemy combatants while deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom

KADENA AIR BASE, Japan -- The 18th Wing was recently awarded the 2013 Air Force Outstanding Unit Award for exceptionally meritorious service from Nov. 2, 2012 to Nov. 1, 2013.
Since the establishment of the award in 1954, it has been earned by the "Keystone of the Pacific" 22 times. 

WARRIOR BASE, Republic of Korea -- In battle, Marines must have the utmost confidence in their U.S. Navy corpsmen who are charged with taking care of the wounded. At times, corpsmen may not be in a position to render necessary lifesaving aid, which emphasizes the need for Marines to learn these valuable skills.
