Let’s get spooky: Halloween events on Okinawa bases!

It’s that time of year again when ghosts and goblins visit for some sweet treats and Halloween fun. The holiday is fast-approaching and there are many fun activities for kids of all ages. Though we are still keeping safety in mind and base protocols are still in place, don’t let the fun of the season pass you by.

A list of what to expect on your base follows. Keep in mind that each base has different requirements and rules in place, so visit visit your local command’s Facebook page or website for updates. Also note events are subject to change at the discretion of base officials.

Camp Foster

Camp Foster Haunted Village

Date: Oct. 30

Time: 5 to 9:30 p.m.

Location: Old Chatan Housing (Abandoned Houses on Camp Foster)

Open to all SOFA members. Non-SOFAs are not allowed to participate. No prior registration required for participation. Minors need to be accompanied by adults.

Currently, the organizer of this event is looking for volunteers to help decorate the houses. Those who would like to be part of the preparation should soon contact SSgt Ringgold at 645-6214 or 080-2738-2257 or email.

(The preparation of decoration is expected to take place on Oct 29 and 30. The decoration should be completed by 4:30 p.m. on the 30th) 

Trunk or Treat

Date: Oct. 29

Time: 5:30 -7:30 p.m.

Location: Camp Foster Chapel

Kadena Air Base

Trick or Treat

Date: Oct. 31

Time: 5 – 8 p.m.

Open to all SOFA status individuals. As a COVID precaution, non-SOFA base visitor access is not approved this year.

Kadena Marina Underwater Pumpkin Carving Contest

Date: Oct. 30

Time: 2 – 5 p.m.

Chibana Golf Course

Spooky Kadena Drive Thru (Trunk-or-Treating for locals)

Date: Oct. 29

Time: 6 – 8 p.m.

Haloween Night Golf

Date: Oct. 30

Time: First 9 starting at 4 p.m.

Entry Fee: $45 per person

Torii Station

Halloween Fun Run

Date: Oct. 31

Time: 8 – 11 a.m. (check-in 0730 a.m.)

Location: In front of CJ's Sunset Grill

Registration Fee: $5 per person and includes a t-shirt.

Admission fee: $5 for age 13 and over (cash preferred), free admission for age 12 and under (entry at parent’s discretion)
