Naha Fire Brigade brings the heat

U.S. Army Garrison Okinawa and the 835th Transportation Battalion attended the Naha City Fire Department New Year's Fire Brigade Review held at the Okinawa Cellular Stadium in Naha City Jan. 13.

LTC Zachary B. Hohn, Commander of U.S. Army Garrison, Sergeant Major Terrell L. Brisentine from 835th Transportation Battalion and Chief Charles J. Butler, Fire Chief of U.S. Army Garrison Okinawa, observed various types of demonstrations put on by the Naha Fire Department such as earthquake emergency response, water pump operation and a water shooting performance.

Mayor Shiroma from Naha City rewarded fire fighters and volunteer fire fighters for their service to the community in her speech and encouraged the importance of raising public awareness of disaster prevention.
