Okinawa’s rain season comes to an end

The rainy season on the tropical island has officially come to an end, the Japan Meteorological Agency declared.

The season started on May 11 and the Okinawa regional office of the agency announced the official end as of 11 a.m. on June 12. This is more than a week in advance of the usual average end date from previous years, which tend to be around June 23.
