Okinawa, US unite in celebration of Independence Day

Community leaders, along with Lt. Gen. John Wissler, center, and U.S. Consul General Alfred R. Magleby, center left, cut a cake together during and official ceremony July 4 at the U.S. Consulate General honoring the U.S. Independence Day. Local community members and leaders celebrated U.S. independence from Great Britain with visiting Americans during the ceremony. Wissler is the commanding general of III Marine Expeditionary Force.
