Pacific Okinawa Players (POPs) begins the 2018-2019 season with the hilariously funny, dramatic comedy, Father of the Bride. Come join the cast and crew for a family-friendly evening celebrating the ups and downs of “L-O-V-E” love!
Father of the Bride takes us into the 1950’s home of the Banks family. Father Stanley Banks lives a comfortable, predictable life with wife, Ellie, sons, Tommy and Ben, and of course, the apple of his eye, daughter, Kay. When Mr. Banks suddenly learns that he will soon become a father-in-law, the entire household is turned on its head in this comedic tug-of-war between Kay and the men who love her.
Leading the cast is “Mom and Dad”, Mecca Emery (Ellie Banks) and Richard Wirsich (Stanley Banks). Rounding out the family are Cristian Colorado (Tommy), Jerry Wilkins (Ben) and Cristen Young, playing the lead role as daughter, Kay. Kay’s fiance, Buckley Dunstan, is played by Derek Jackson. Supporting cast include Ellie Dolan (Delilah), Taylor Yaste (Mrs. Bellamy), Desiree Hall (Peggy), James Willis (Buzz), and Angela Morrison (Mrs. Pulitzki). Ensuring the wedding goes off without a hitch, the team from Buckingham Caterers (Erudessa Gentian as ‘Massoula’, Cortez Pree as ‘Joe’, and Shinaiya Ferguson as ‘Tim’s Woman’) are guaranteed to tickle your funny bone!
The show is lead by Director and Okinawa newcomers Hillary Scales and Assistant Director, Delvon Lewis. The duo are assisted by Krista Hurley (Stage Manager) and Kelly Dolan (Producer).
Performances will be held at the Crow’s Nest on Camp Shields, November 6-11. Dinner is included. For a complete list of show dates and times, or to purchase tickets, go to the POPs website, www.pacificokinawaplayers.org
