Royal Brunei Land Force, U.S. Marines train for MOUT
U.S. Marine Cpl. Brighten J. Bell, from Columbia Falls, Montana, demonstrates how to properly move past buildings to U.S. Marines and members of the Royal Brunei Land Force Nov. 10 during military operations on urbanized terrain at the Penanjong Garrison, Tutong, Brunei.
Service members participated in MOUT training as part of Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training 2014 to learn tactics for operating in urban areas such as towns and cities. CARAT maritime exercise series promotes regional security cooperation, mutual understanding, and enhances interoperability among participating forces.
The Royal Brunei Land Force service members are with 1st Battalion, RBLF.
Bell, a rifleman, and the U.S. Marines are with 2nd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment currently assigned to 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force under the unit deployment program.
