Soldiers from 349th Signal Company were recognized on March 23 for their volunteer work with a local preschool in Yomitan Village. The 349th Signal Company adopted Kubato Preschool in 2011, and with assistance from the community relations office at USAG Okinawa, CPT Alec E. Kinczewski, Commander, and SPC Luke House alternate teaching English language and culture to the students on a weekly basis. Eighteen of those students graduated on Sunday and will now move on to first grade in a new school. It was an emotional ceremony for parents, teachers and volunteers – especially when the children addressed their parents to thank them for all their support and love. The students and teachers expressed their gratitude to CPT Kinczewski and SPC House, as well as Yumiko Uchima and Tomoko Goya, for their continued support of this unique and valuable community relations opportunity.
