It’s been a while since environmental damage done by plastic bags came to light. To address the issue, plastic bags are now subject to fees at stores in Japan. So next time you go shopping off-base, let’s keep in mind this phrase.
“Eco-baggu wo motte ikimasho,” which means, “Let’s take a reusable bag.”
(“eko-baggu” – eco bag/reusable bag, “wo” – a proposition to put after a noun which functions as an object, “Motte/Motsu” – take/have/bring, “Ikimasho” – let’s go )
