Although the temperature keeps moving back and forth, it would be safe to say that spring has finally arrived. And that means road tax season is coming up as well. Today’s phrase is:

“Jidousha-zei no shiharai-kigen wa gogatsu-matsu desu”, which means “The deadline for road tax payment comes at the end of May.”

(“iidousha”– car, “zei” – tax, “iidousha-zei” – road tax, “no” – of, “shiharai” – payment, “kigen” – deadline, “wa” – a particle to indicate a subject, “gogatsu” – May, “matsu” – end, “desu” – is”)

There are some exceptions to the deadline depending upon where you live in Japan. So be sure to check with your local authority. See you in the next episode of Speakin’ Japanese!
