Even after we graduate from school, there’s always a chance that we need to spend some time at our desk studying. Exams for a license, foreign language, promotion, employment, etc. we never know when we will face a need to do all-night cramming.

To stay alert and ready to take on challenges anytime, let’s memorize the phrase “benkyou shimasu,” which means “I’ll study.”

Benkyou shimasu. (“benkyou”– study/learning, “shimasu/suru” – do)

Please note that this phrase can also mean “I’ll give a discount” if it is used in the context of business. Ok, let’s keep learning and studying. See you in the next episode of Speakin’ Japanese!
