Heading to Okuma Beach may not require a special occasion, but this Labor Day weekend the getaway destination is offering more fun for the kids in your family.

Kids ages 13 and under can participate in Warabin Pic Kids Olympics on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1. (“Warabi” means kids in Okinawa’s local dialect.) On both days the beach will be host to a slew of events put on by Kadena FSS. Saturday will include push-up and sit-up, bean bag toss, 25-meter dash, and water battle competitions. On Sunday, in addition to an evening color run, there will be a soccer shoot out, miniature golf tourney, tug-of-war and balloon toss.

Stick around on Saturday evening for Good Vibes, dinner entertainment featuring Polynesian dance, fire dance, Tahitian dance and more.

And don’t forget to sign up 4 p.m. for the Color Run, which starts at 5:30 p.m.  It’s a great way to end the summer season on a colorful and fun note.
