Solutions that were shared at the Civility360 Town Hall Meeting:

Business Civility Prof. Vernet A. Joseph

1. Embrace Equality in diversity. Everyone treated with respect and dignity!

2. Develop a culture and dialogue that promotes proper people treatment, and civility in action.

3. Champion Civility within the business, education, and governmental rank structures.

4. Develop an Office of Civility (Liaison) that has authority to govern acts of incivility at all levels. Monitoring the civility temperature/pulse of an organization. To maximize productivity and spot cancerous behaviors before getting out of hand. Educating the workforce on civility communication and dynamics.

5. Embrace, participate, and celebrate National Productive Business Civility Day annually on June 13th. “The most powerful commodity and currency for business is the value of people, their ideas and solutions.” - Prof. Vernet A. Joseph

Dr. Dan Justice
The solution to racism lies within each race.  They can't be imposed from the outside. Ultimately, each race has to decide what its identity will be. The solutions begin with honor and encouraging the right actions taken within those communities. “Vision will always be the basis for our actions. If you're not responding to your own vision, you're reacting to someone else's.”

Dr. Sonny Lara
Engage people right where they are. Help people and they will be willing to help you. “People don’t care how much you know, until they know how much your care.”

Dr. Marquez Hughley
1. Unacceptable - We must not let up / Mission focused
2. We need ink! - Change the rules, laws, etc
3. Unity - We need to do this together (All people)
"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Apostle Quint Burks
We need to do away with the systems (such as the union arbitrators) that make it impossible to get rid of even repeat offenders in authority. There should be a limit set on infractions that automatically remove you from office or position. All verified infraction should require some type of additional training. “Be the change you want to see in the world. If you can’t walk it out, then your words are meaningless.”

Dr. Johnny Vega
Renew the minds of our generation and not let the minds of our future generations get polluted. Create programs like mentoring, multi-media, and any other programs that will shape our youth. Mentoring is the key from kindergarten on up most youth have no father figure and we have to fill in that void. “Keep it 100% real with the youth and gain their trust.”

Dr. Jamal Cummins
R - Responsibility
A - Action
C - Courage
E - Equality
“Each of us needs all of us.”

I Change Nations Global Business Statesmen Prof. Vernet A. Joseph Speaks on Preventive Civility Measures for Business Productivity.

PHOENIX, ARIZONA, USA, June 5, 2020 -- I Change Nations Global Business Statesmen & Founder of Productive Business Civility talks about preventive civility measures for business productivity. Professor Vernet has created a new paradigm of Business Civility in action. “This is where business and people are of equal value. Civility is meant to be contagious so spread it with love.” - Dr. Vernet A. Joseph

As a retired combat veteran of the U.S. Army, I have been on the frontlines and the battlefields of war, serving my country in some of the most austere locations around the world. Living in Europe for 10 years opened my eyes to many things.  I have fought for and defended the very freedom given to those who may not like, appreciate or even respect me. I would never have imagined that in 2020, we would still be dealing with systemic racism. The past few weeks have been simply appalling to say the least. In America and across the world we are experiencing a global pandemic, but the epidemic of race and racism has been something we have been battling for over 400 years.

The time is now for a new voice and change. We need a new mind, mentality way of doing business and life. Productive Business and Civility in Action is that new paradigm “This is where business and people are of equal value. Civility is meant to be contagious so spread it with love.” - Dr. Vernet A. Joseph

Watch this clip of Prof. Vernet A. Joseph addressing the media on civility in action on the current events taking place in our world today: https://youtu.be/2iRRwVMI6p0

The high cost of business incivility… Bad attitudes become contagious and are destructive to the bottom-line of any organization. 30% of business profits are lost because of incivility in the workforce.

  • Employee Retention
  • Morale
  • Customer Engagement
  • Leadership Breakdown
  • Trust In The Workforce

What would your business look like if you had 30% more profits?

I highly recommend businesses, corporations, educational institutions, and governmental structures to invest their influence, time and money into developing offices of civility now in preparation of post COVID-19 and George Floyd rioting. Below are five practices that worlds businesses, education systems and governmental institutions can benefit from.

  1. Embrace Equality in diversity. Everyone treated with respect and dignity!
  1. Develop a culture and dialogue that promotes proper people treatment, and civility in action.
  1. Champion Civility within the business, education, and governmental rank structures.
  1. Develop an Office of Civility (Liaison) that has authority to govern acts of incivility at all levels. Monitoring the civility temperature/pulse of an organization. To maximize productivity and spot cancerous behaviors before getting out of hand. Educating the workforce on civility communication and dynamics.
  1. Embrace, participate, and celebrate National Productive Business Civility Day annually on June 13th.

The new unity is diversity… Empowering everyone to move in their own giftings and strengths for the betterment of a greater mission which is a untied and thriving world. Sir Clyde Rivers and Professor Vernet A. Joseph are the founders of the global movement Civility360, the leading voice of civility in action which focuses on brining civility solutions to our world with a 360º angled approach. https://bit.ly/Civility360 Promoting the pillars of kindness, respect, love, hope and action.

The real issue at hand today is a humanity issue. If everyone would simply remove the name, emotions, feeling, race, gender, history and any other bias out of the way. Let’s focus on it being about people treatment. If the shoe were on the other foot, would you want the same treatment? The solution is simply, we must ALL come together and come against that which divides us.

It will take everyone, man, woman, boy and girl; white, black, brown, rich, poor, middle-class, etc. We must not turn a blind eye or ear to the reality of incivility and inequality. It is time to step up and set a standard for humanity to be above all else! There must be an overhaul of our justice system, to eradicate the mentally and acceptance of murdering black, brown and ANY race without accountability. We are calling for a pathway of justice - Civility has to be put into ACTION! There is no other time like the present to listen and to be heard! Together we can resolve our issues.
