MCCS Okinawa will host Kitchen Warriors, an annual cooking competition, on Saturday, Sept. 5. Twelve teams of two are expected to fight it out in the kitchen to be the best.
Since its launch in 2022, the event has spotlighted the impressive cooking mastery by the participants.
The competition will be contested in two rounds, with 60 minutes allocated to each.
Just like “ Iron Chef” or “Top Chef,” surprise ingredients will be revealed in each round to make it a real test for the competitors. Acclaimed chef Jonah Friedmann, a winner of Food Network’s “Chopped,” will join as a special guest.
As of Aug. 31, registration for the competition is still open.

Date: Sept. 5 (Sat)
Time: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Location: Butler Officers’ Club
Entry fee for the competition: $50 per team (first come, first served)
Admission for spectators: $20 for ages 12 and above, $10 for ages 5-11, and free for those under 5.
