3rd Medical Battalion change of command ceremony at Camp Foster

U.S. Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Francis Zapanta, a hospital corpsman with 3rd Medical Battalion, holds the company guidon during an appointment ceremony at Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan, Jan. 31, 2023. During the ceremony, Capt. Darryl Arfsten, the outgoing commanding officer, relinquished command of 3rd Medical Battalion to Capt. Justin C. Logan, the oncoming commanding officer. 3rd Marine Logistics Group, based out of Okinawa, Japan, is a forward-deployed combat unit that serves as III Marine Expeditionary Force’s comprehensive logistics and combat service support backbone for operations throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility.
