U.S. Marine Corps Col. Erik Smith, commanding officer of 3rd Sustainment Group (Experimental), hands off the non-commissioned officer’s sword to Sgt. Maj. Rupert K. Palmer, oncoming sergeant major of 3rd SGX, during a relief and appointment ceremony on Camp Kinser, Okinawa, Japan, Jan. 30, 2023. The relief and appointment ceremony acknowledged the efforts put into the unit by Sgt. Maj. Charles B. Peoples during his time as the 3rd SGX Sergeant Major and welcomed Sgt. Maj. Rupert K. Palmer into the unit.
