III Marine Expeditionary Force celebrates the Navy's 247th Birthday at Camp Courtney
U.S. Navy Capt. Robert Hall, a chaplain and religious program specialist seaman apprentice Luna Kaer, both with Headquarters Battalion, 3d Marine Division, cut a cake during a ceremony to honor the Navy’s 247th Birthday at Camp Courtney, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 13, 2022. The cake cutting ceremony is a time-honored tradition in which the oldest Sailor present passes a piece of cake to the youngest Sailor present, representing the passing of naval traditions. Hall is a native of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Kaer is a native of Spokane, Wash.
