Lt. Gen. Eric Smith, left, awards Capt. John Norseen the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal at Camp Kinser, Okinawa, Japan, Friday, May 9, 2019. Norseen performed above and beyond his required duties as a logistics planner to ensure that the Marine Expeditionary Force Exercise could be conducted efficiently to successfully complete the mission. Smith is the III MEF commanding general.
