Lance Cpl. Isela Izquierdo

31st Marine Expeditionary Unit

“I first joined because being in the military was a dream for me,” said Lance Cpl. Isela Izquierdo. “Being a female Marine was something that seemed impossible, so why not take the risk? I joined for the risks, the challenge; for the feeling of accomplishment and pride, not only for me, but for my family. I’m the first Marine in my family.” Izquierdo, a native of Dallas, Texas, is now an ammunition technician with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit.
