Meet our MLG: Combat Logistics Regiment 37 Motor Transportation Marines

by Lance Cpl. Sydni Jessee
3rd Marine Logistics Group

“I was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. My grandfather once told me that I can do whatever I set my mind to. I liked listening to his stories about when he served in the Korean War as an Air Force pilot. After he passed away, I decided to follow in his footsteps by serving, but I also wanted to challenge myself. I joined the Marine Corps to prove to myself and show my grandfather that he was right. I can do whatever I set my mind to.”

U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Elijah Castillo is a motor vehicle operator with Combat Logistics Regiment 37, 3rd Marine Logistics Group. Motor vehicle mechanics perform regular maintenance on their vehicles to keep the regiment ready to support operations throughout the Indo-Pacific region. 3rd MLG, based out of Okinawa, Japan, is a forward-deployed combat unit that serves as III Marine Expeditionary Force’s comprehensive logistics and combat service support backbone for operations throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility.
