Next time you drive to the south, making a stop at Chura Niwa Nanjo may be a good idea.
The botanical garden is about a five-minute drive away from Ojima, and is home to 65 ponytail palm trees that are around 50 years old.

You may recognize these uniquely shaped plants as something for interior décor, but the ones you find in this garden are huge. Although the exact height of the trees is not unknown, judging from a photo of me standing between the succulent trees, their trunks can reach 8 meters or even more from the ground.
Walking through the trees that look like elephant feet can make it feel like being in its native country, Mexico. There are even agaves and cacti in the garden, making the location perfect for your next Instagram post.
