Situated between JR Kawasaki Station and the costal industrial zone, Korea Town has been developed with Korean immigrants between 1920s and 1940s. Many of their descendants run Korean barbecue restaurants and grocery shops in the district.

By train, I go from the sanctity of Koya-san, through to the chaos and bustle of Osaka, to the sad city of Hiroshima. The atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima by the American B-29 bomber, Enola Gay, on 6th August 1945. 
 

Kyoto, Japan’s imperial capital for more than a millennium, offers a wealth of picturesque temples, museums, and gardens, but with millions of international visitors a year, many of Kyoto’s “must-see” destinations like Kiyomizudera, Kinkakuji, Gion, and Arashiyama are thronged with school groups and tour buses nearly year-round.

Hanoi teems with sidewalk life. Motorbikes beep as they zoom past, pushing you closer to the woman washing chickens on the sidewalk who’s crouched in front of a cafe packed with people drinking egg coffees or local beer.
 

If you’ve ever looked north from Anderson Air Force Base on a clear day and caught glimpse of a mysterious isle floating 40 miles out, you have seen Rota. Known as “The Peaceful Isle,” Rota or Luta, is the southernmost island in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
