I dumped the contents of my purse onto the bed.

Miyakojima is one of Okinawa's most beautiful islands. Nestled in one of its beaches is a village unlike any other. Tudor style manors and houses with their characteristic white and brown wooden beams cluster around a wide green lawn. It looks like a place lifted straight out of medieval Europe and set down in tropical Okinawa.

Lake Towada is the largest caldera lake on Japan’s main island of Honshu and one of Tohoku’s most beautiful scenic spots. The lake straddles the border of Aomori and Akita prefectures and is easily reached from either side.

Japan is a dream for theatre lovers. With its unique and rich history of music, film, performance styles and dance, one is truly spoilt for choice when tasked with selecting just one genre to explore during your time in the country.

If you’re like me, then you dream of traveling the world to see small and remote places, as well as large and well-known destinations. And if you are also like me, then the price tag on some of these spots can be quite prohibitive to fulfilling those dreams; unless you are flexible about when you go.
