Tsukenjima is a small island that is situated just thirty minutes by ferry from the main island. I had the opportunity to travel to Okinawa with some friends during the start of the rainy season in June. Before leaving I had many people telling me that it was not the ideal time to travel there due to the rain but I decided to go anyway.

Japan has amazing skiing and snowboarding opportunities throughout the country. The mountains around places like Nagano and Hokkaido have powder that's as good as Colorado or the European Alps. Though the winter provides great snow for many ski resorts, not every place is equal.

As an expat living overseas, I have done my fair share of long-haul flights and after years of trial and error, I developed a pretty neat list of travel essentials that help me prepare for, as well as comfortably last through the multi-hour flights (especially the red-eye!).

I have achieved a dream, three years in the making. On Dec. 1, I participated in a competition greater than the Olympics, Daytona 500 and Army/Navy Game combined. I, of course, speak of the Sasebo Goeikan (Escort Ship) Curry Grand Prix (GC1).
 

American Village is a spectacular place to go. There are many stores and restaurants. My favorite restaurant to go in American Village is this Indian place. Their food is really good. There is even a Ferris wheel! I once went there, and saw this guy who was dancing with fire. The best time to go is at night time.

The historical precinct of Kampong Glam will soon be pulsating with an exciting series of fun and entertaining activities for both tourists and local residents from 5 October 2018 to 17 March 2019.
