Pachinko parlors dot the Japanese archipelago from northern Hokkaido to the southern island of Okinawa. For lovers and seasoned players of the game in Japan, pachinko is considered a great pastime and an indispensable factor in their lives. With nearly 12,000 registered parlors, about 11 million people play pachinko annually. All those people playing help make the pachinko a 19 trillion yen ($210 billion) industry.
