With a large crowd expected in Mihama American Village to celebrate Halloween, a traffic restriction is scheduled for the commercial area near Camp Foster and Kadena Air Base.

Starting at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, access to several roads around American Village, as indicated in red on the map, will be limited to taxis and rental cars only.

According to a report by local newspaper the Okinawa Times, this will be the first time for the local municipality to introduce such restrictions to deal with heavy traffic and any potential “bad behavior” from visitors.

This traffic restriction is expected to continue until the morning of Nov. 1.
