Okinawa Cars and Coffee, a get-together event for the car community on the island, is scheduled to take place Saturday May 12, at American Village in Mihama, Chatan Town.

Oki’s Finest, a Facebook group which launched the event about two years ago, shared with the Stripes Okinawa their expectations about the upcoming installment.

Q: How many cars are you expecting?

Oki’s Finest: Weather is always a factor in our attendance but on average we often have over 150 cars and over 200 people in attendance.

Q: What types of cars will there be?

Oki’s Finest: There will be a wide variety of cars there! Part of the fun of the event is that you never know what will show up. We’ve had everything from Ford Model T’s from the early 1900s to exotic European sports car worth well into the six figures. There’s also a wonderful mix of both American and Japanese owned vehicles.

Q: If people have their own customized cars, can they be part of the event?

Oki’s Finest: The success of our event is solely based on the participation of the local community. A large majority of our attendance is personally customized vehicles owned by the diverse car community in Okinawa.

Check out Oki’s Finest Facebook page for video clips and photos from their previous events. The show will be a must-see event for all the motorheads and gearheads on the island.
