Okinawa’s rainy season kicks off
It’s official – Okinawa’s rainy season has started. The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) announced May 4 as the start of the 2022 season.
The JMA notes that a series of cloudy and rainy days are forecasted in the prefecture in the next week due to a front and moist air.
Compared to last year, this year’s announcement is one day early. On average, the rainy season begins around May 10 in Okinawa and continues until around June 21.
