While fierce heat continues day by day, the Japanese Meteorological Agency today declared rainy season finally over in Misawa in the Tohoku region, along with the Hokuriku region. It is seven day later than the yearly average in Tohoku, according to the agency.

Rain season in Sasebo and Iwakuni ended on July 8 and in the Kanto Plain on July 20. That means that except for Hokkaido, where no rainy season exists, Japan has entered the danger zone of summer heat.

The agency reported that the overwhelming high-pressure weather system is covering the entirety of the country and the heat is expected to continue for at least another week.

Don’t forget to hydrate and grab that sunscreen because summer is full steam ahead!
