Tokyo’s DisneySea opens new Nemo attraction

Tokyo’s DisneySea opens new Nemo attraction
Fresh out of the water, Disney’s new “New & Friends SeaRider” attraction opened to the public at Tokyo’s DisneySea on May 12.
The indoor attraction at Port Discovery features a nearly five-minute undersea adventure that takes you through the hit movies “Finding Nemo” and “Finding Dory.” Guests board the SeaRider, a submersible ride that “shrinks” to the size of a fish, and under the water you go. The ride explores the world of being a fish, and gives you the point of view of Nemo or Dory as they swim the open waters.
In addition to the stars, guests have the chance to see many of the popular characters from the movies, including Destiny (whale shark), Crush (sea turtle), Hank (octopus) and more.
Inside the 122-person submarine cabin, guests get a real underwater experience thanks to the state-of-the-art special effects. Between the screens above and in front of you, the life-like sounds and rumbling seats, the Disney tricks make for an awesome adventure with Nemo and his friends.
The attraction cost $43.78 million to build and can only be found at DisneySea. Guests will also be treated to the newest and longest pieces of original animation for a non-movie experience from the Pixar artists.
If you, or your kids, are a fan of Nemo and Dory, the ride is a must while you’re in Japan. Just prepare yourself for long lines!
