Okinawa may not have tall mountains like Mt. Fuji or Kilimanjaro, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy some great hiking on the island.

Katsuu-dake in Motobu Peninsula is the third tallest mountain on Okinawa’s mainland at 452 meters high (approx. 1,483 feet). Composed of lime rocks dating back to around 250 million years ago, this mountain offers a quick but exciting trekking experience. A steep trail thick with rocks and roots is waiting to challenge you.

Once at the top, your reward is a superb view of the coast and the joys of getting in some exercise.
