Otaki in Chiba Prefecture is a beautiful castle town only a two-hour drive from most of military bases in the Kanto Plain. Travel back into the Edo Era with traditional wood buildings and old timey scenery. While enjoying a town walk, I found a unique public phone housed in a traditional wooden booth that invited me to make a phone call to thank one of my friends.

Today's Japanese phrase:

“Denwa wo kakemasu!” 電話をかけます= I will make it phone call!

 ("denwa " 電話 = telephone, "..wo kakemasu"..をかけます = will make/take..)

The cute telephone booth was a great way to catch up with my friends.

Stay safe and please keep in touch!
