VIDEO: Speakin' Japanese lesson: What a great view!
The 150-year-old Shiriyazaki Lighthouse is one of the oldest of its kind in Japan. You’ll find this impressive lighthouse at Cape Shiriyazaki, the northeasternmost point of Honsyu. On the top of the 33-meter tall lighthouse, you can enjoy a fantastic panoramic view of the crystal-clear blue ocean against the backdrop of Hokkaido along with the other side of the Shimokita Peninsula. Although you need to climb up along a long steep spiral staircase to the top, it is well worth it as the panoramic view of the Tsugaru Strait is magnificent.
