CAMP COURTNEY, OKINAWA, Japan --Members of the local and U.S. communities attended the 2019 Camp Courtney Holiday Festival Dec. 7-8, on Camp Courtney.

The festival brought together both members of the U.S. and local communities to enjoy food vendors, and music played by Jade Eagleson during the holiday season.

“We like coming to Courtney Fest because we get to communicate with people and Marines,” said Airi Medoruma, a local participating in the festival. “It’s a special time for us.”

As part of Marine Corps Community Services’ ongoing efforts to provide quality events and services for military members and their families, the festival offered a multitude of fun filled activities including some well known performers.

“We are so blessed to be here,” said Eagleson. “We are so grateful to be able to come and show our roots as Canadians. You know Canada always kind of looks up to the States as their big brother, so the opportunity to come and play for you is such an amazing blessing.”

Activities for all ages were available. A rock climbing wall, trampolines and more were part of Fun Land for children.

“I’m really thankful to be invited here and at the end of the day they are the real heros,” said Eagleson. “It’s kind of cool to meet people that have the willpower and strength to risk everything.”
